If it was a perfect world, the Doctors would stay longer so you weren't building that relationship/bond from scratch as frequently & the pharmacy would have a larger selection of meds, but I can't fault the clinic for something they can't control; shortage of Doctors & the Cocoa Puffs price increases initiated by the pharmaceutical companies.
I have been getting Healthcare here for a few years and they are wonderful.
Very courteous and nice staff on first visit for dental emergency appointment. I also couldn't help but admire the building's architecture. Definitely an eyesight. Will recommend to fellow Cherokees!
Bottom line is, CDIB card + Vinita Clinic = Good Good.
Primary Care is excelente too! They've run test, labs & done procedures that I was unaware that I should have done (usually related to age. grrr!) keeping me in front of any potential problems. I even did a "drop in" with a minor emergency requiring stitches, fully expecting an ER referral, but thought it was worth the gamble due to the severity of the laceration & they paid off with a winner, winner, chicken dinner OR stated clearly; they made every accommodation, immediately got me in a room, sewed me up & sent me on my way. I would never equate receiving stitches as being pleasurable, but all things considered in this situation; the concern, consideration, promptness & care given, actually made it pleasurable.
I had been referred to a ear, noise, and throat doctor in tulsa to have my tonsils removed. The specialist in tulsa approved the surgery and said we just had to wait for the Indians to approve it so we could schedule it. A couple weeks later I get a call from the Indians and they said since they were trying to save money they wanted to send me to talequah, ok to get my tonsils removed now! That is over 2 hours from my home. Just so they can save some money! I have chronic strep throat at least 5 to 7 times every winter. They said they would help me and I went to 2 appointments trying to get help and at the last minute they bailed on me. I won't have surgery 2 hours from my home. What would I do if I had an emergency after surgery and needed to get back to my Dr and he was 2 hours away? Screw you contract health or whoever it was that wasted my time and fuel.
Very disappointed.. had my yearly eye exam. Had eyes dilated..& all. Could not get a prescription, because I was out of the district...I got glasses from them last year.....Why didn't they tell me this before they did the exam (ESPECIALLY dilating my eyes)....VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
I have nothing but good things to say about the people, facilities & services. Dental was an exercise in patience & persistence getting the initial appointment, but after you get that first one, you're in the system with appointments scheduled on a regular basis; they even have extended hours (7:00AM-5:30PM) making it easy breezy convenient & the staff is caring, thorough and gentle (gentle is high on my priority list because I'm a Dentite wimp!).
